Loving Psychological Services is interested in bringing additional assessment psychologists into the practice.  Please consider whether you have these qualifications and attributes:

Psychology license or license-eligible in PA and/or NJ (although it may be possible to work in NJ under a permit, while working toward NJ licensure)
Excellent evaluation skills, including experience in the areas of child, family, and Family Court matters
Natural interpersonal skills, including genuine compassion, empathy, and respect while relating to a wide range of clients
Strong, efficient writing skills
Ability to relate to, and communicate effectively with, people in other fields.  In particular, we work frequently with social services professionals and court professionals.

Dr. Jordan Weisman is a Clinical Psychologist, licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  He has over 20 years of direct care experience in the field of behavioral health.  Dr. Weisman has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing facility-based individual and group therapies and community-based therapeutic services to clients spanning the life continuum.  He offers not only individual therapy employing a Cognitive Behavioral modality, but also forensic assessments to children, adolescents, and young adults who display severe behavior problems.  Dr. Weisman teaches in Rowan University's Department of Graduate Psychology.  His research interests include the assessment and implementation of empirically validated treatment protocols.

Dr. Weisman earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from PCOM, and a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from LaSalle University.  He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Society for Children and Adolescent Psychology (APA Division 53), Society for Pediatric Psychology (APA Division 54), the Juvenile Justice Alliance, and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.

Dr. Weisman joined Loving Psychological Services in 2013 as a part-time assessment psychologist, while continuing his work in other settings.

Dr. James Loving is a clinical and forensic psychologist, licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  He earned his undergraduate degree (Psychology and Biology) at the University of Delaware and his doctoral degree (Clinical Psychology)  from Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology.
 
In addition to his work in other settings, Dr. Loving has maintained a private practice since 1998, which was incorporated in 2012 as Loving Psychological Services.
 
Dr. Loving specializes in psychological assessment and evaluation services, and has devoted most of his career to working with children, adolescents, and families.  Most often, this has been in Family Court contexts.  He has extensive experience working with complex issues of abuse, neglect, and trauma.  He has been qualified as an expert witness in numerous PA and NJ counties.  He is routinely retained by the State, as well as by attorneys representing parents, children, and criminal defendants.  In doing so, he has built a reputation as an objective evaluator who brings fairness and openness to the evaluation process.

Since 2000, Dr. Loving has taught as adjunct faculty at Widener University's doctoral psychology program, specializing in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and testing.  He has previously taught at the master's and doctoral programs of other local universities (LaSalle University and West Chester University).  He routinely presents professional workshops and trainings, and he has had a number of book chapters and journal articles published in his areas of expertise.

Dr. Melanie Freedman is a clinical and forensic psychologist, licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  She earned her bachelor's degree (Psychology and Criminology) from Rutgers University and her doctorate (Clinical Psychology) from Florida State University.  She also completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, working with their Youth Violence Prevention program.

Dr. Freedman has worked in a variety of settings, with particular experience and expertise working with juvenile delinquency, juvenile violence, and Family Court matters.  In recent years, she has devoted most of her professional time to providing in-depth parental capacity evaluations.  In that context and others, she has worked extensively with complex issues of child abuse, neglect, and trauma.

Currently, she serves as adjunct faculty at Rowan University, where she teaches a variety of undergraduate psychology courses.  In the past, she has also taught at several other institutions.  She has authored or co-authored numerous professional journal articles, with an emphasis on juvenile delinquency and violence.

Dr. Freedman also maintains active involvement with several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, New Jersey Psychological Association, South Jersey Psychological Association, the American Psychology-Law Society, and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.  Her curriculum vitae (CV) is available upon request.
